We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Mike Thibodeau and Melissa Lowe to Guelph CBT! Dr. Thibodeau is a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Regina and his Clinical Psychology residency at Vancouver Coastal Health. Prior to joining Guelph CBT, he was a staff psychologist at Toronto General Hospital, an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, and an associate at CBT Associates in Toronto. He brings to our team expertise in the assessment and treatment of adults with anxiety-related disorders, including OCD, PTSD, and illness anxiety disorder, and is committed to providing efficient evidence-based treatment using CBT and complementary treatments (e.g., mindfulness, motivational interviewing).
Melissa is a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers. She completed her Master’s degree in social work at Wilfred Laurier University and has an Addictions Careworker Diploma from McMaster University. She has continued to enhance her clinical work with advanced training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Motivational Interviewing for addictions. She is joining us from Homewood Health Centre where she has worked for several years in the Integrated Mood and Anxiety Program (IMAP) providing comprehensive care for individuals with complex mood and anxiety related disorders.
Mike is in the office on Thursdays, Fridays, and Wednesday evenings. Melissa is in the office on Thursdays 10 am – 7 pm. Both Mike and Melissa are currently accepting new clients.
